Tilapia with Butter Caper Beer Sauce

Serves 2


  • 2 Tilapia fillets
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil

Butter Caper Beer Sauce

  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 Tablespoon onion or shallot, diced small
  • 1 Cup Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy beer
  • 1 Tablespoon capers, drained
  • 1 Tablespoon butter
  • Fresh chopped parsley for garnish, optional


  1. Heat a large non stick skillet over medium high heat for one minute. In the mean time, season the tilapia fillets to taste with salt and pepper. Add the oil to the skillet and swirl to coat. Add the seasoned tilapia and cook for 2 minutes per side. Check for doneness and remove the cooked tilapia to serving plates.
  2. Add one tablespoon oil to the pan. Add the onions and sauté for one minute. Remove the pan from the heat and add the beer. Return pan to the heat and simmer to reduce liquid by 75%.
  3. Add the capers and butter. Swirl pan to melt the butter. Pour sauce over tilapia and garnish with chopped parsley (optional).

Enjoy with a glass of Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy beer
